The Cambridge Brickwalk Conservancy, Inc. (CBC) is a non-profit organization formed to preserve, maintain and extend the traditional brick sidewalks in Cambridge, MA. We strive to raise community awareness while promoting a sustainable approach to the urban environment of Cambridge.
With a legacy that extends over two centuries, brick sidewalks are a signature feature of the city. The unique charm of Cambridge, that attracts thousands of tourists and visitors annually, is due in part to historic characteristics like these.
CBC's chief purpose is to maintain this rich community attribute. Preservation and appreciation for the brick sidewalks that define and distinguish Cambridge not only keeps our neighborhoods beautiful but also carry on a legacy found in few other places in the country.
At CBC, we seek a balanced and effective approach to sidewalk construction and maintenance that preserves the legacy of brick sidewalks while serving the needs of the disabled. We hope you will join our cause by visiting our Donations Page. Note that we are a tax exempt organization so your donations will be fully tax deductible.
